Open Call by Substationto put in proposals for a visual art project to be realised at The Substation Gallery in May 2010. The Open Call programme is an annual event at The Substation Gallery (Deadline: 20 January 2010) for which ONE project will be selected. This can be a solo artist project or a group project.
Their criteria:
- Strong artistic ideas that possess critical rigour, and which can be executed practically;
- Particularly, projects that demonstrate a fit with The Substation’s artistic mission and with The Substation Gallery’s role as a contemporary art space.
- an exhibition of new work, which has not previously seen in public in its proposed form or in its entirety;
- any medium: painting, sculpture, installation, video, performance, etc.
- Open to all artists resident in Singapore for at least 2 years.
Just send in a proposal (at least 2 written paragraphs) with accompanying images of
past or present works, or sketches of the proposed exhibition, and your biodata.

THE FIRST DRAFT is a new programme on screenwriting that will be run by The British Council from March 2010 in partnership with Sinema and tutors from the London College of Communication. Supported by the MDA, THE FIRST DRAFT is a Singapore-based one-year professional development programme for a select group of 12 screenwriters who will go through residential workshops, one-to-one mentoring sessions, group discussions and online consultations with the aim of developing 12 feature film ideas from initial proposals to industry-ready first draft screenplays.
